Tour Description

Our guided Segway tour through the 400 acres of Florida Carriage Museum & Resort property will take you effortlessly on miles of winding paved private roads through tall oaks draped in Spanish Moss where you will experience the Japanese Koi pond, Chinese Qin Dynasty garden, scenic ponds, lakes, Esther Benedict sculptures, serene courtyards, beautiful horses and bountiful bird life. Horses abound; a rare Poitou donkey named Nicolette and her best friend, a Miniature Horse named Gracie, welcome visitors and look for a scratch on the head.

Our tour also has an off road option for the more adventurous guests which will show you the hidden beauty of the resort by gliding you on your Segway over miles of unpaved carriage trails and horse paths through hardwood hammocks and open fields. Experience the beauty of Central Florida horse country in a way that can only be seen on a Segway.

The Resort features 24 well appointed residences and 10 barns that serve as an equine "Bed & Barn". Some guests bring their horses to train for the winter months, a weekend, or just for the day. Others come without horses to enjoy the miles of walking/carriage trails and can often be spotted picnicking under the shady oak trees.

Located at 3000 Marion County Rd, Weirsdale, FL 32195 (Near The Villages), the Museum houses one of the largest, privately owned collections of carriages in the world. It is open to the public and there are more than 160 meticulously restored carriages including the 1840's Dress Chariot formerly owned by Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria. The price of Museum admission is $10.00 and is not included in the Segway tour.

Before the tour you’ll get hands-on training with our friendly staff showing you how effortless and safe the Segway Personal Transporter can be. Reservations are required. Groups, parties and special events are welcomed!

Scheduling and Reservations

Tours are conducted on Tuesdays, by advanced reservation only, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Other days may be available on request for groups of six or more persons. Cost for the 90-minute tour is $60.00 per person. Reservations can be made by calling 352-383-9900 or emailing segwayofcentralflorida@yahoo.com anytime, seven days per week.
