Orlando Science Center to Feature A Segway Experience at Greenovations Event in October

ORLANDO, FLORIDA – September 27, 2011 - Segway of Central Florida will be partnering with the Orlando Science Center in October to promote the Center’s “Greenovations” event on Saturday, October 16, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Participants at the event will have an opportunity to ride the all electric Segway Personal Transporter and experience the amazing technology of “dynamic stabilization” which allows riders to move effortlessly by simply leaning their bodies in the direction they want to travel. The Segway's highly efficient electric propulsion system powers the device for up to 24 miles on a single charge of less than 25 cents worth of electricity

Attendees at Greenovations will also experience exhibits, seminars, workshops, speakers, films and more that will highlight the fast-developing world of clean, renewable energy, recycling and energy efficient technology.

The Science Center’s floors will be transformed to provide exhibits, activities and sponsors on the specific topics that will help educate and provide examples of alternative behaviors and resources to live a “greener” life. Targeted at the residential energy consumer, Greenovations will provide hands-on activities for children and adults that have an environmental awareness focus.

Have fun and learn about the importance of recycling while creating artwork and fashion from recycled plastics or find your direct impact by measuring your carbon footprint. Guests can also experience solar viewings at the Crosby Observatory and learn about the science of the atmosphere and the role that it plays in conservation.
