Syscom Technologies 1st Annual Segway Polo Challenge held at Stone Mountain, Georgia

Sixty-eight first time Segway riders participate in this corporate event

STONE MOUNTAIN, GEORGIA – September 25, 2009 – Syscom Technologies of Marietta, Georgia recently hosted its 1st Annual Segway Polo Challenge during the company’s Tech-Fest event held at Stone Mountain, Georgia.

Syscom associates and their clients received training just minutes prior to the Polo Challenge from Segway of Central Florida, who provided equipment and support for the event, and then took to the polo fields. Most of the sixty-eight Segway Polo players had never ridden the two-wheeled, self balancing devices prior to the event but quickly adapted. For the next six and a half hours, teams competed in double elimination matches to determine the winners.

During this team building event, educational seminars and discussions were held in the Technical Theater, timed with a series of breaks to allow participation in the Segway Polo Challenge. Presentations included topics such as WAN Optimization, Storage Management, Server Consolidation, Virtualizing Exchange, Cloud Services.

Plans are already underway to organize next year’s event.
